TWO WEST LINN GIRLS ADMIT SEXUAL HARASSMENT: 4 P.M.
OREGON CITY ? Two teen-age girls today admitted in Clackamas County Juvenile Court to touching and scrawling an obscene message on the private areas of another girl who had passed out drunk after the West Linn High School prom last May.
The message, written in permanent marker on the inner thigh of the 17-year-old victim, inferred by using an obscenity that the girl had had sex or been raped. The incident took place at a private drinking party after the May 1 prom.
Rumors and talk about the incident rocked the West Linn community for months.
After a lengthy investigation and more than nine months since the incident took place, the Clackamas County District Attorney?s Office today charged three teen-age girls with one count of harassment of a sexual or intimate part of the victim and another count of harassment. Two of the teens admitted to the first count, and the court dismissed the second count. The third teen did not state her guilt or innocence.
The Oregonian is not naming the accused teens because they were juveniles; 16 and 17 years old at the time of the alleged crime. The Oregonian is not naming the victim because of the sexual nature of the crime.
During the hearing, Judge Deanne Darling asked the two girls who admitted to a crime what they did.
?I wrote on her thigh,? said one.
?How were you able to do this against her will?? Darling asked.
?She passed out,? the girl said.
