This is not true at all. The increase in bandwidth needed by a lot of sites and services required P2P to become mainstream. Look at AOL and their
new media delivery plans for one example. There's plenty of companies using P2P as a core part of their delivery mechanism. The BBC, Radio Free Virgin and many others.
The further the bittorrent protocol gets developed the more uses we will see. I have a feeling it's going to play a key role in IPTV over the next few years. The bandwidth requirement to make IPTV ubiquitous is sickening so you better believe that some great minds are at work figuring out how to make that work.
