yea, i used to push 500k+ uniques daily of tgp traffic to smutserver, and know a couple others that also did, with some good links it could have been profitable as a freehost, sad to see how they killed it.

Back in the day, I used to think smutserver was the best free host around. They had a simple text link header and footer, did not redirect traffic, and hosted your own domains. I'm glad I stopped using them long ago.

These days, there is no excuse for using free hosts.

fact is it was the #1 free host, it was getting very little traffic because the previous owner added a lot of 1 point font links and made it unusable for gallery posting, then the little archived galleries traffic it might be getting is being stolen from webmasters that trusted smutserver and got shafted without notice. not an honest business model no matter under what circumstances it was sold.
