when you message someone on icq and they go to away

perhaps...but it was something that was immediate was no forgetting this matter

just funny is all..cant deal with the heat..get out of the kitchen comes to mind

Did they go away because you were talking to them, or did they go away because they actually went away? I see that sometimes. I send a message and twenty minutes later they're "Away" but I sent my message a minute or two after they left...so they just missed my message.

If they did just put it on away to avoid you, yeah, that's weak.

I was about to say the same thing

I am almost always away and you just have to leave a message, my trillian is set to auto-away after 10 minutes

I don't think it's the person running away, I think it's the ICQ servers not updating people's "status" - especially the status of an idle client that has clicked on "away" because of the screen saver. When you send a message and the other uses is idle, the new message triggers the status change

yes could very well be that...but i think i am right in this matter...as it was something the person most likely didnt want to deal with

lol, I might ask ONCE if they're there, just because they may be, but if they don't answer, I do assume they're not really there and wait for a response.

maybe you actually caught them as the system went into away or as they were marking away to leave & didn thave time to read your msg? ;)
