I am not sure where you live, but there are three major collection, or credit bureaus. The name's escape me. But if you report that shit to the credit bureau (they are all over in medium to large cities, check phone book) they will go after the company using shady practices.
If you check the phone book under credit bureau, they should be able to direct you correctly, or take care if for you. Same for those motherfuckers you pay, and do not want to remove, or adjust it from your credit report. Give it to the credit bureau, and they will whoop some arse, and send you a nice letter telling you the play by play of what they did, who they talked to, and everything.
