What good or bad does free porn do?

Firstly let me state my side. I've never worried about free porn. Not when I sold videos via mail order or only shot for magazines. It's there and worrying about it gets you nowhere.

So what damage does it do to us on the Internet?

Over all not a lot is my POV.

Simply because of the amount of money it costs to put it out there and the return we have to get to justify this investment means we have to be making money from it.

We are small sponsors but what I'm fast realising is the major commitment to driving traffic to the site, most of which requires CONTENT, so it's still KING , this content needs preparing, hosting, then the affiliates needed to spread it out to the 100s of 1,000s of surfers.

All this costs money. Money for hosting, servers, bandwidth, staff to organise it, affiliate programs, affiliate payouts, time on the boards, promotion to affiliates all cost money. Do you really believe if it all disappeared tomorrow the free loaders could supply it P2P? No way could they supply the free porn addicts.

Or do you believe the numbers of people signing up would increase in a great numbers?

I do not believe it would help in the long term. The surfers who survive on what they get for free are not our target market. They are yet to be addicted to porn enough to warrant them spending $1 a day for it. Will they get there being fed free porn?

Look at the costs of supplying it and you quickly see enough do to fund the free porn merry go round.

IMO the only way to compete with free porn is to supply a product worth $1 a day. Some do have a problem doing that. Others don't.
