When i was in Istanbul last year with my gf it was ridiculous - she stood out because a) she's beautiful (I'm not bragging, she's the one that's beautiful!) and b) in Turkey they are still very Muslim-like in their culture. Most women don't walk around in anything close to revealing clothes - and you don't see many women walking the street, period.
The attention got too much: Guys would stop and start talking to each other in Turkish sizing her up, walking up to her, etc. etc. I literally could not leave her side for 10 seconds. Seriously.
If I had confronted every one of them I would have spent the trip in a Turkish prison (Midnight Express anyone?). In a foreign country like that, it was smartest to just walk away and ignore (after a dirty, don't-fuck-with-me look).
Here at home, it's a different story. I'd make sure he knows he can't disrespect me like that ... Toronto jails are like country clubs anyhow

That happens alot with me and my girlfriend, I don't say anything, occasionally I'll grin, but as soon as we are out of earshot I'll start laughing. My girlfriend is fairly oblivious to that shit and half the time she doesn't even realize what happened. When she does figure it out, I just let her handle herself, because she has a sharp wit about that stuff, plus she knows that if it's ever getting out of hand she just needs to give me the sign and I'll find an excuse to get her out of it.
