So I went to urgent care on Saturday for my sore throat, it had gotten to the point where it just hurt to swallow, eat, drink, talk, etc. So he says its not strep throat, gives me some antibiotics and vi-q-tuss for the pain. So its Thursday and it doesnt feel like its gotten any better. Am I going to die? Do I need to go back? The medicine is going to run out in another 2-3 days.

Well I dont have medical insurance due to the fact that im self employed and I've been too lazy to get my own since I turned 21 and lost my parents insurance. And to go to urgent care again, I will have to sit and wait over 5 hours just to see a doctor for 5 minutes. I think I'd rather die.Comment

Usually the amount of anti-biotics the doctor prescribes is dead on.
For instance, I had an infected thumb. Painful, painful little odd ball injury. Nevertheless, went to the doctor, got a 10-day allotment of anti biotics. By then 7th day, I'm furious, this infection is still admist my thumb. Sure enough, on the end of the 9th day, with two pills to spare - finger was completely healed.

Cefzil was the prescription. 2 pills a day, I still have 5 days worth left. I've been taking them 5 days or so already. The pain medicine will run out in 2 days.
No refills on either.
I dont know what swollen glands are since I'm not a doctor. When I open my mouth and go "Ahhhh", besides freaking out my cat, I can see something that looks swollen, in fact the little hangy thing in my throat gets stuck to it.Comment
