I had lots of probs with my RAID5 software and had to reinstall XP (from scratch - restore from backup just crashes immediately after boot) about 4 times in as many months. First time it complained that my copy was already registered to another comp and I had to call a number, but after that there were no problems doing it online. Maybe there's a range where they allow a bit of leeway for people who do reinstalls, or perhaps they can see from the unique code that only my HD is changing.

After the reinstall Photoshop announced my trial was over and I had to purchase a licence. It was a fucking full, paid install from a retail box! Trial? Pay? What the...
