US teens say freedom of speech is excessive

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4225013.stm

A significant number of US high-school students regard their constitutional right to freedom of speech as excessive, according to a new survey.

Over a third of the 100,000 students questioned felt the First Amendment went "too far" in guaranteeing freedom of speech, press, worship and assembly.

Only half felt newspapers should be allowed to publish stories that did not have the government's approval.

You don't know what you've got until you've lost it.

The conservative white trash shouldn't be teach the rest of the world about "freedom" and "laws".

I think the right to vote should be pushed back to age 21 because most kids in my opinion aren't grown enough by 18 to make a responsible choice.(please refrain from Bush bashing. we know already) Honestly who gives a fuck what the high school students think because they're NOT thinking yet.

One man's freedom is another man's bondage. with freedom comes responsibility.

When you pay for the goverment you should be able to also take part in choosing the goverment. If you pay tax you should also be alowed to vote

Vote at 21, yet you can die for your country at 18?

I'm sure they could ask College students the same question and the % won't be that different. You keep putting to much faith in people, remember over half of the US voted for Bush.

You start paying taxes at 15-16 when working in fast food joints, yet are unable to vote. Paying taxes has nothing to do with your ability to form cohesive and intelligent decisions regarding this country's leadership.

You can't drink until you're 21 but can die at 18, so what's your point? Most college kids are idiots as well. If you get a chance, watch JayWalking on Leno...

                                    As if teenagers have brains.

You don't get those until you hit about 25 or so, it's a proven fact.
