Anti Gay Marriage Fanatics = WTF?

So I'm driving down the street on Friday night, on my way to grab some dinner with the fam...

We're at a stop light when I see this old beat up Toyota pickup with a HUGE homemade, double sided, plywood sign advertising to the world that he was against gay marriage...

In the front was some spray painted message about how gays that get married are doomed to an eternity in hell... on the side was an enourmous picture of 2 guys kissing with a big slash through them... on on the back was a "Just Say No to Gays" message..

Dude driving was some old guy, looked like he lived a hard life.. and looked seriously pissed off!

Now what would make somebody so adamantly opposed to the personal decisions other people make for themselves?

I don't understand.

I can't understand it either. Was watching a documentary on it last night. Most of the complaints were from hicktown folk claiming it's Satan's doing and they will all go to hell and soon our kids will all be marrying the same sex and there will no longer be heterosexual couples marrying and reproducing.

If you instill this type of fear into biblethumpers enough they'll do anything to enforce their beliefs.

Sick that people are still being discriminated against in this day and age. All they want is the right to be recognized as a married couple (not just lovers) with all the benefits and protection a spouse has.

anyone that says anything good about Ronald Reagan should be reminded of his actions in 1964 with Goldwater and the campaign against blacks.

now republicans are against gays.

As a matter of fact - that was one of the examples they used. There was an interracial couple married in one state that allowed it & they had travelled to another state for some reason and in the middle of the night, they find cops in their room with guns pointed to their heads for 'marrying the wrong race' - turns out it was illegal in Virginia (I think that's where they travelled to). Anyhow, they faced jail or they had to leave the state. They left and took the state to court after court until the supreme court judge (I believe) said it wasn't the states business to allow/disallow interracial marriages.

One of our Prime Ministers (P.E.Trudeau) changed the laws in Canada, where the government has no business in your bedroom. The marriage of gays and lesbians has become a showcase for the political parties to seperate the voters again.

I'd actually like to see stats of 'breakups' of the married/committed gays/lesbians compared the heterosexual couples. Perhaps the gays/lesbians are actually keeping their vows more 'sacred' that the regular folks.

I actually become freightened of people who won't take the time to dissect what is fed to them by people with a very obvious agenda.
