It goes down when the weather is bad. Raining, snowing, cloudy etc. The lag just loading pages is unbearable, especially if there's a lot of images on a page.

That's not even the worst of it. The home plan for Direcway only allots you 169MB of downloads and no more than 22 TCP connections in a 4 hour period. If you exceed 169MB in 4 hours or have more than 22 TCP connections open for more than 4 hours, they will cap your bandwidth down to NOTHING so that you are barely online at all. I'm talking 0.02kb/sec. They claim it's because of their FAP (Fair Access Policy) and government restrictions. Their business plan isn't much better. When they cap your bandwidth, they give it back to you slowly... like over a 2 or 3 day period. It's painful, trust me.

On top of the worst internet service in existence, the actual satellite is $600 to install and $60/month.

It's awful We are moving soon to an area where we can get real broadband and I cannot wait!! I'm going to burn that dish down before we leave too!
