Hey, does he have a van already picked out? I have one for sale, its a full size with extended roof, lift included. Its more of a transport van than a self-use van, not sure what your buddy needs.

sly, he has a long ass wheelchair, due to Cerebral palsey his legs have to be extended. He has the availability of a van with a side lift, the rear lift works better because of the length of the wheelchair.

also the van is a state van with state plates. so he cant travel out of state, cant go to the titty bar or the casino..

so there are many factors, plus he cant keep to much in his savings account.

he does run a small snack business, so that would cover the ins. and maint on a van

Also, if he has a small business he should set-it up as a corporation. Doing this will help keep assets and income out of his name while still being able to enjoy the things in life that he can. His corporation could also buy the van and pay the insurance, again keeping it out of his name. No more in-state restrictions. The only thing he'll need to worry about is burning too many Jefferson's on the titty girls.

he needs a van, doesnt have one lined up, i have 3k toward it now

I'll check into the corporation, because the problem is we need to keep the assets out of his name.

Oh, another thing. The van shouldn't count towards his assets. I know what you're talking about but some assets are exempt, transportation is one of them. Have him talk to his worker.
