The site is slow, and intermittently up and down, but seems to be recovering a bit. I assume the same thing will happen in other time zones...by the time it airs in California, you'll have not only Californians trying to get there, but people in the earlier time zones still checking it out. The piece was overall not too shabby. The Homegrown segment was nothing but complimentary IMHO with a "naughty fun" spin, which must have been nice to see

From within your office, I don't doubt things looked fine, and that you'd have lots of visitors and signups, but did you monitor from an outside connection? I'd guess you were losing a lot of visitors during the peak, still getting a ton but losing even more. Maybe the pipe's fat enough but a router or balancer bogged down or something. Of course I am looking from multiple outside connections and we are used to high volume usage due to our streaming. We are seriously on top of our bw at all times because we serve streams to the biggest adult sites on the net. Most importantly, we care about the surfers. You are right; there are plenty of reasons for a congested internet. The most recent episode of 20/20 on ABC featured an appearance by Homegrown Video President Farrell Timlake.
The majority of the episode, titled ?Caught on Tape,? was devoted to depressing and sometimes horrifying uses of video cameras. By comparison the program presented an upbeat take on Homegrown Video, one the leading amateur companies in adult.
The segment discussed how people like to use cameras to record their intimate encounters, and how since 1982 these people have been selling their adventures to Homegrown Video. The episode showed clips of regular people having sex, and Timlake told interviewer Chris Connolly about how Homegrown features people who get a thrill by seeing themselves on the box cover in their local video store.
After seeing the segment, Timlake said, ?I think I just saw a commercial for Homegrown Video air on primetime network television!? The company reported a spike in membership sales at www.homegrownvideo.com since the show aired on Friday.
Homegrown Video has been featured prominently on several TV shows, including a recent plug on HBO?s Pornocopia. The company will also be covered in an upcoming episode of Canada?s City TV. The 20/20 interview was taped almost a year ago, Homegrown said.ICQ 149037324Comment
