just playing with some of my 404 traffic right now.. a big bulk is spoken for but lookin at other ideas anyone might have to put it to some decent use..

use ur ref code and example what ur doing with it and i will take a peak..

and sell the hard links to target the traffic ...it works great for me ....of course you should give Mobbucks a free spot just for the idea ....hit me up if you want the page setup ...i know it's easy but may save some time ...

ie. I'm not clear on how a well-managed website can generate enough 404 traffic to 'market/convert'.

I do understand that many gallery submitters intentionally 'bait and switch' their submissions by deleting their posted galleries to get 404 traffic.

Is this the traffic you guys are talking about?

Where/how does all your 404 traffic come from?

that is a practice some people use yes... although this traffic is not from deleted pages etc using the "bait and switch" formula...

as for your statement in regards to you not seeing a well managed site have so much 404.. its not creating 404 from broken pages etc... a good % of the 404 i see from my end is actual user interaction to create the 404..

ie he is at www.website.com/pornpage1 and he edits the url after he has seen it to goto www.website.com/pornpage2 etc etc..

if you are intrested in doing something with it i have no problem showing server logs so you can see the referal pattern etc where this traffic is coming from and so forth..

Thank-you for explaining this. I have asked this question numerous times, and this is the first meaningful response (outside of the other obvious explanations) that I have had.

It does stand to reason that adult sites would lend themselves to greater curiosity on the part of the surfer.

I wonder though, if the type of surfer to tries to 'tinker' with URLs is like to sign up for anything.
