My ex's lawyer thinks I'm an idiot

i love it when a lawyer thinks I'm an idiot.

I love it.

sad part is - by fighting this they will get 10% of what i was willing to give them. Now I'm gona FUCK THEM OVER BIG TIME.

I can't believe lawyers are this fucking stupid.... the law is one thing - but the law doesn't ever get someone anything near or close to what they COULD have gotten in a negotation..... i looked at my legal position with my lawyer, and it's soo strong i actually feel sorry for her, she's gona loose everything and the only winner will be her lawyer. I wish she wouldn't have taken this route.

I left her the house, all contents - tons of cash and a new car. over 2/3 of all assets - it wasn't enough according to her lawyer. So FUCK EM - legally I can force sale of EVERYTHING - and i'm VERY close to doing it. It'll all end up as legal fees to her lawyer - my lawyer is 1/3 the cost of hers and i don't give a fuck about my legal fees. Sadens me that she'll end up with next to nothing though. but hey - if she wants to keep doing this shit I don't mind getting more cash out of the deal........

If what you say is entirely true, and if there was ANY justice in the world, when all is said and done, she'd sue her LAWYER for all the money she's gonna lose, because you aren't allowed to tell her the real situation.

This is why we do NOT have a justice system. It's a LEGAL system. Plain and simple. (I understand this isn't a criminal case, but the statement still rings true).

did worse - with the house demanded that we buy it till they put a proper value on it. they literally screamed at us when we sugested that. they didn't like having their bluff called.

When my parents divorced years ago, they decided amicably between them who got what.

The laws being what they were though, they still had to pay two separate lawyers...or something to that effect.

My mom sat and fought with HER lawyer that she was fine with what she was getting, even though he insisted that he could get her more.

Her lawyer was just pissed off because he saw a divorce case come through his office, and all he got paid for was drawing up the papers.

Fucking lawyers. Just above psychologists on the food chain.

OK, I don't get it - why are you deciding to give her less because she's following an attorney's advice? She's not a lawyer. She did what any smart person would do and went and got one. Why punish her for picking the wrong one?

In the states, you can't get a restraining order without proof that the person you're getting the order against will cause harm. That's bizarre that her lawyer can make sure you can't talk to her w/o any proof of wrongdoing on your side

It always amazes me how people who can love each other turn so hateful when it's over. I've done it too, but it still amazes me.

Always, always if you have money and sense your marriage is heading south, and your wife is the type to go after your money, have a plan already prepared to temporarily sink your business so it looks like its going to hell and you're going belly up. This is one of the best ways to avoid getting your wealth zapped.

Trump did this when Ivana could have cleaned him out and she settled for a meager $10 Mil thinking he was going under completely and she could end up with squat if she didn't settle fast.

Seriously, if you have money, always have backup financial plans for the worst in your relationships. And keep everything you do ultra complex stucturally so the attorneys will have an insurmountable time figuring out everything you actually have, own and control.
