MSN Search Provides Totally Irrelevant Porn Results ...examples...

Has anyone actually received relevant, targetted traffic from them yet?

I get redirected to the local version, but the results are pure garbage. Even when I turn off safesearch completely (no filtering) the top results are nothing to do with porn.

MSN has always been very against porn and I'm not surprised these results suck. The good news is that Nightcrawler is just a sponsored text link now, before they used to get the whole results page and you had to click a link to go back to MSN's searches. Might give a little more traffic but with the results being this bad, whats the point...

I haven't checked yet, but I wonder about the relevancy of mainstream results. If these porn results are any indication then good luck to Microsoft with this little project. I'm thinking this will evolve over time as they gain feedback. I was just hoping once they went from beta to live that an entirely new database would be served up. Not the same nonsense.

I have a few mainstream sites I launched a few months ago and they were getting top results in msn for the most highly searched words I was targetting. Sadly last week that changed Too bad because the sites that are showing up now are even less relevant than mine were.

I only said positive things about Microsoft's engine in the past because I was getting some nice keyword traffic from them for a while. Other than that they are fucking shit. They really have a long way to go.

I find mainstream stuff generally better on MSN than google at the moment. Depends what you search for I suppose. Do enough searches over enough subjects and you usually get less shit with MSN at the moment - or more accurate to say you can usually find the sites you're looking for amongst the shit.

However....gotta agree that results for porn are crap. Intentional maybe? If so a crazy move as porn is such a heavily searched subjects bad results for that will stop people using it for other stuff too.

You will find "microsoft" come up on a lot of porn searches. That leads me to believe that they are not even close to cleaning up the beta database as of yet. I wonder if they would like an experienced porn webmaster to help them out with "quality control". I should send a resume.
