You stay away from talking about your "wife" for as long as you can, while you build rapport and get to know her. Then when "she" comes up, you just laugh and say, "Ya, a lot of people get confused. It's just a ring, I'm not married."

By then, if you've got even an ounce of charisma and she's interested, you're in.
