His Dex gave him a -4, combined with +5 plate, a +5 shield, and +3 bracers of defense reducing your 20 to a 3, when your thac0 is a 10. Try again.

bracer of defense give you a base ac so they would be worthless

and btw natual 20 always hits.

A couple years ago I was getting interviewed and the interviewer asked me about mob involvement in the adult industry. Once I told him I played D&D that ended any ideas that I could be cool enough to go be involved in organized crime. =]
