i watched one of those D-Day type documentaries on cable not too long ago, and they had crewman from the Liberty actually AT THE MEMORIAL of the Liberty asking WHY the US will not open that case etc...
was real sad, to see the children of those dead soldiers, (now grown and adult) asking why the US overlooks that, as anything LESS THAN AN ATTACK... right or wrong, accident or not... its a shady event.

One could say the opposite...she should not have been within 10 feet of a working dozer. I have operated a D7 Cat with a blade and I know that you cannot see when the blade is at a certain level. That photo was exposed as a chop, although there are other perfectly legitimate photos of her standing infront of the bulldozer.
However, the International Solidarity Movement's (to which Rachel Corrie belonged) own report showed that she was not hit by the bulldozer. She was infact crushed by a great lump of falling earth.
The bulldozer was not destroying homes at the time. It was clearing brush which was used for hiding smuggling tunnels.
So, Rachel Corrie died to protect a tunnel used to smuggle contraband, weapons and explosives to terrorists and criminals. What a waste of a life. But I must say that her Darwin Award was fully deserved.Comment
