I do not watch much TV due to the amount of crap but if/when I do, it is for the TheFoodNetwork (TFN) -- still my favorite channel.
Yah, there are many crappy shows on TFN as well, but not as many as the rest.
My favorite host is Elton Brown because he knows what he is doing.
(I rarely do fast food or pre-packaged or prepared foods and tend to cook most of my meals. I have cooked for decades as find it to be a very relaxing and enjoyable hobby.)

There was a chef on the food network by the name of Michael Lamonaco.
He had a recipe for Texas brisket to die for and included a recipe for a bbq sauce that was heavenly.
He used to be at Windows on the World at the Trade Center, which we all know got smashed on 9/11.
But, I bet that recipe is still on the Food Network's site...
