    Urgent For All Canadians!

    Greetings-

    On short notice, I've been pegged to be interviewed on the MTV Live! show in Canada Today (Wednesday) at the 6pm EST show. details on the MTV Canada Website

    I don't have access to grab this on the air, and as everyone here knows, you rarely get the copy of the show you ask for from the producers.

    I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for anyone in Canada to record tonights show either digitally, video tape, DVD, whatever. I'm happy to pay for your time & materials if I could get a copy of the show in ANY format.

    Can anyone help me out?

      wish I could - but one thing about mtv is that they always reply every event several times so I am sure that they will put it on later in the evening where you can tape it.

                                      I wouldn't even know what channel to look for. Shit, I don't even watch muchmusic, except the odd time they put a good movie on.

                                      In fact, I didn't even know there was an "mtv canada". :D

                                          Yea, me neither. But then, on reflection, I figured there must be. Canada is a little more liberal about sex on TV than here apparently. MTV.ca is the website, and there is a little preview blurb about it on the "LIVE!" link.
                                          It's being shot in Toronto.

                                                  I'm pretty sure it's just MTV's main channel. That should be part of a basic cable deal, if it's anything like down here.

                                                                          There is an MTV Canada - it's out of BC I believe - I don't have cable so I don't get it or else I would have been happy to get you a copy. If you get in touch with the producer and offer to pay them - they would do it - they charge a shitload though - usually liek $60 for a VHS copy.

                                                                                  MTV is launching a Canadian MTV. There's been ads for it here and there on other channels. They're the "The drought is over" commercials where people drink disgusting sources of water (like the athlete wringing the sweat out from his sock and drinking it).

                                                                                      No, MTV Canada is based outta Toronto. They recently took over the old Masonic Temple (formerly home to the Mike Bullard Show).

                                                                                      But MTV isn't available on basic cable (at least not to us on Cogeco). Otherwise I'd consider recording the show on dvd.

                                                                                              The legal docs say the name of the corp is "CTV," it has the MTV Logo on it, the company is called MTV, it's on the MTV.ca website preview thingy, and the show i authorized apporval (consent form) for is "MTV LIve."

                                                                                                              Hah, cool, I was on a couple of weeks ago on their show about "Geek Chic". Got a few site signups from that ;)

                                                                                                              It was reeeeally fluffy and cheesy though. Most of the people who came by as a result of the show were complete idiots ("omg ur so hawwwwt can i see ur boobies?"). I'm sticking to tech/web media from now on.

                                                                                                              I haven't got my copy yet either, but I ran into another guy who was on the same show with me and he said he got a copy from them.

                                                                                                              Yes it's in downtown Toronto and only airs in Canada. It will be replayed a crapload of times though, they re-air MTV Live a lot, I found out.

                                                                                                                                              MTV Canada became "Razor" and MTV sort of disappeared for a while, and now is being reborn, moved from the left coast to Toronto.
