Problem 1.
It is my belief that the Liberal Government is going to win the next federal election. Labour has no chance of coming into power for at least 20 to 30 years, they are a weak government and their leader Kim Beazley is not strong enough to lead his party into power. The liberal Government is just to strong, the country has never been in a better position than It is in now and if Peter Costello becomes Prime Minister, the country is only going to get better and stronger.
Problem 2.
Let?s say miracles do happen and the Labour Government comes into power and passes this new law, we have a privacy issue. Should you want to look at pornographic sites, dating sites, or any adult related sites, you have to make a request to your internet provider to view such sites. Do you really want your internet provider knowing that you look at adult related sites, I don?t think anyone will.
This idea will never work, the only way we can stop children from viewing such sites starts at home with the parents or guardian of the children. The way I see it is, you have to be 18 to purchase cigarettes, you have to be 18 to enter a nightclub, you have to be 18 to drink alcohol, you have to be 18 to drive, why not make it that you have to be 18 to use the internet unsupervised, if your under 18 then you need to be supervised, this is the only way you are going to maintain some sort of control over the internet, people have to remember that it is the Internet that really controls this world and parents need to take more of an active role and supervise their children when they are surfing the internet. Children have it far to easy in this day and age, instead of the parent letting there child sit on there butts all night talking to there friends on msn, why not send their child out to kick a ball in the street or read a book, children spend way to much time on the internet unsupervised, when they should be doing things that are better for them. I know for me if I was a parent, there is no way in this world I would let my children on the internet unsupervised.
