The good life - Ice fishing [Pics]

So went out and did some ice fishin today.. Brought some good food, a good woman, and my new ice shack... Scored it last night at a local store for 50% off sticker price.. Just could pass it up...

Anyways here are some pics...

The new shack...

I can definitly get it in the right hole....

I've never actually icq-fished before but.. are you supposed to be using a rod? Correct me if im wrong but, arent there little ice fishing things you set over the hole and have little flags that pop up when you have a fish so you can avoid standing there frosting your scrotum?

Yeah caught some perch, some crappies and a few pickeral.. I was pissed that the camera died.. I wanted some nice shots of them...

Those things are called tipups... I dont like them.. I prefer to jig for my fish because it keeps me busy. When I get cold I run inside the ice shanty...

It wasnt that bad today.. About 40 degrees... I had my coat off and was relaxing inside the shanty a bunch today...

ice fishing is fun. We would sit up some tip ups with minnows to catch pike, and then use poles for crappie, bluegill, and perch.

I love fishing, but I have never fished anywhere outside of Florida.

I have always wanted to go ice fishing but now i'm not really sure it would be much fun catching fish that would fit through the size of that hole? Or did the camera die before you finished making it?

The hole is 6 inches... I've pulled some mighty nice fish through it.. I also have an auger that makes 8 inch holes... The smaller is for panfish like crappie, perch, bluegil, etc etc

The bigger for stuff like lake trout, salmon, pike, etc etc...
