    What is the best format for net films.

    DVX or wmv or other.

    Also what is the best softwear to make small film files but still high quality?

                          But already decided - or others did - on DivX

                          I can't remember the reasons but something related to quality/compression/compatibilty.

                                  Windows Media. I guess Windows Media Encoder is free...

                                  Real Media is also OK but most users will have to download&install Real Player.

                                  As far as more advanced software goes have a look at Discreet Cleaner XL.
                                  Encodes in various formats, high quality, has batch enconding but a little complex to learn and pricey.
                                  Nothing here...
