    Home video DVD quality problem - My software settings or the videocamera model?

    I have a Sony TRV-460 witch is a Digital 8 camera, not DV. I initially bought a Sony DV cam that was about $1k more but I noticed they had the same recording quality (when played on the TV via AV cables) so I took it back and got the cheaper camera because I thought the quality was the same, the only diff was one took HI8 tapes and the other takes DV tapes...

    Anyway, I got Adobe Premiere, and I burned one of the videos after I captured and edited it onto a DVD, and the quality was absolutely horrible! SUPER pixelated, and the DVD would'nt even play on my DVD player, only on the computer.

    My question is; pixelated, poor quality DVD burns are a result of my camera model, or software settings when I captured/recorded the movie to DVD?

    Any ideas/suggestions?

      I'm not a pro in here as i have a DV camera myself and i burn many home made videos to DVD.....
      but i think that the main problem is how you capture the vide from a cam and then how you convert the AVI to MPEG2 (DVD).....
      As there's a lot of settings that could be set to convert to mpeg2 and if you put one wrong setting, it will fuck your whole DVD

      so you gotta go to www.videohelp.com and read what wise people write and talk or maybe ask some questions.... also, read the tutorials too

      Also, check out what video codecs you use... maybe you use divx when rendering to mpeg or so
