Lemme tell ya why. Freud took a cold, hard look at the ugly, squiggly bit that is our Human Sexuality, and all he did was shrug and giggle. He tried to let us off the hook for all kinds of things that are now armored in taboo. I can only speculate what the sexual and social norms were like in Freud's day. But, I feel pretty sure that on some essential level we have lost Freedom, and come to this place of greater oppression in 2006.
