Ahmadinejad: "The Future Belongs to Iran"

Ahmadinejad: "The Future Belongs to Iran"

Iranian President Says U.S. Gov't Must Recognize Iran as "Big Power", 2 Detained American Hikers Must Prove Innocence

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that "the future belongs to Iran," and challenged the United States to accept that his country has a major role in the world.

The comments came in an hourlong interview with The Associated Press on the first day of his visit to the United States to attend the annual general assembly of the United Nations this week.

Obama at the U.N.: Seems Not Like Old Times

He insisted that his government does not want an atomic bomb - something he has said in the past - and that Iran is only seeking peace and a nuclear-free world. He gave no indication of when Iran would resume talks on its nuclear program and said any anti-nuclear sanctions against his government would have no effect on his government's policies.

Appearing calm and self-assured, the Iranian president said he was pleased about the release of American hiker Sarah Shourd from a prison in Tehran, but said her two companions still in prison would have to prove their innocence on charges that they illegally crossed into the country.

"Ahmadinejad's defiance of U.N. sanctions and his demands for a swap of Iranians in U.S. custody for the two young American hikers still in prison in Iran are his opening salvos," said CBS Foreign Affairs Analyst Pamela Falk. "He is laying claim to a war of words with the U.S. that may dominate the U.N. General Assembly events."

If you thought Saddam was worthy of a good war, you are a moron... He was the test run to see what new weapons worked or not. The actual war will be brought to the world by this guy and his buddies.

Imagine what will happen when the Imams of the world tell their followers to start the killing spree. You might think that family next door to your house is fun loving just like your family is... Once the Imam speaks, they MUST kill you or suffer the same fate as you. It is plain and simple and it is all in their fucking bible. Just read the damn thing with a closed mind like they do.

I still think NK would be a worse war than Iran would ever be. It seems like war with one of the two is imminent for sure.

With Saddam in power there was a balance in the region. With him gone and a Western imposed Government the balance is gone.

Bush never thought what would happen if the Iraqis didn't welcome an invading Western army with welcoming arms and what Iran would do after Saddam was removed.

Now we inherit the shit storm.

Why do these small little countries think they have such a big stick?

We beat Iraq in all of what, three weeks? With some 1k KIA? During WW2 we fought harder for small islands. Iran would be a cakewalk. It's very easy to stand up and say "We will kick your ass" but it's another thing when tanks roll down your street.

Correct. Ahmadinejad has no control over the military. Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, controls that and, really, everything else of any importance.

Iraq still isn't settled. Anyone who thinks it is, is a fool.

Sorry Richard but it's true. History will show me to be right.

If it was as "plain and simple" as you say, then the majority of Muslims would be committing these atrocious crimes and having their own "Crusades". Since the radicals are the minority, there's nothing plain and simple about it. The radicals just take the meaning literally and suit it to their own needs. I don't think Islam is a peaceful religion at all compared to the other monotheistic religions, but I sure as hell know that the majority of Muslims are normal people.

because those 'small countries' are all grouped in the same region and can cause one fuck of a mess so far as the delivery of natural gas, oil, etc etc.

And to say you 'beat' Iraq in three weeks is nothing short of laughable. You walked away after 7 years and left a mess. A beating requires fighting to end.

Here are some pretty pictures to explain.

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Imagine what will happen when the Imams of the world tell their followers to start the killing spree. You might think that family next door to your house is fun loving just like your family is... Once the Imam speaks, they MUST kill you or suffer the same fate as you. It is plain and simple and it is all in their fucking bible. Just read the damn thing with a closed mind like they do.
contrary to popular belief not all muslims take every word of the quran literally... just like 99.9% of the rest of the religious population..

Since the radicals are the minority, there's nothing plain and simple about it. The radicals just take the meaning literally and suit it to their own needs. I don't think Islam is a peaceful religion at all compared to the other monotheistic religions, but I sure as hell know that the majority of Muslims are normal people.

I continually wonder why, when the extremists are constantly "hijacking" the name of Islam for their extremist views, why aren't there Imams standing up to denounce and distance themselves from the Jihadists? It's obvious that the whole world, (not just the US) connects the extremist jihad types to Islam, so why aren't the leaders of the moderate majority of Muslims on TV, telling the world that the extremists are wrong and evil, and doing their best to help turn them in to the authorities?

I did that to point out that what you said could easily be applied to any extreme religious group anywhere in the world. I could do the same thing with the Jewish faith but in all honesty, I do not know enough about the JDL to really get into a discussion about that

Since you obviously don't know me, you wouldn't know, would you? It also shows that you have no answer to my post, since this is the best you could come up with.... your answer does not address what I said on any level.

And no one is going to put me on TV to listen to my opinions about those Chabad wackos...

However if I was some kind of recognized leader, and I wanted to talk about extremist Chabad Jews and how screwed up they are, and that they don't represent the vast majority of Jews, then I would call some of the news channels and set it up. I'm pretty sure that I could get the air time, no problem.....

...and so could an Imam who wanted to condemn extremist jihadists .

You do realize that immediately after 9/11 Iran was hugely helpful to us with the intelligence they provided about Al Qaeda/Afghanistan/Iraq. There was a more moderate and very pro-west government in office then too. 1,000,000+ Iranians had a candlelight vigil in the streets in Iran IN SUPPORT OF THE US after 9/11. Then Bush did an about-face and labeled them part of the Axis of Evil and the rest is history...

Also, there have been many Muslims that have stood up for against the extremists, they just got killed rather quickly. In today's technological age, the Muslim extremists have a lot easier time getting to their targets than the Crusaders of 900 years ago.

And you're going to find the least amount of extremists in Judaism than any other religion.

There was a more moderate and very pro-west government in office then too. 1,000,000+ Iranians had a candlelight vigil in the streets in Iran IN SUPPORT OF THE US after 9/11. Then Bush did an about-face and labeled them part of the Axis of Evil and the rest is history...
