I am trying epic cash free memberships too. And its hard to say, but $1 memberships is getting worse result than like $5 memberships with other sponsors, even epic cash webcam site looks much better.

I would never give my credit card info to someone who "promised" that there would be no charges, and that they just needed it for whatever reason they happened to give.

Saying it's for "Age Verification" is bullshit, as Visa has specifically stated that their cards cannot be used for this purpose.

So why then would this info be required?

Before anybody starts ranting that this or that sponsor is trustworthy blah blah blah, ask yourself if YOU would hand over your credit card info to a porn site that said "Don't worry, we won't charge you, we just want the number, etc." If the answer is "no" ? then you have nothing more to say...

I have noticed this as well. I have found that full paid $29.95 or better memberships convert just as well as $2.95 trials on certain sites.

This "enter cc number just for age verfication"-thing trick is something old and probably worked at the beginning. but today I would say, most of the users also know about these tricks - they smell the fish and they leave the site.

Ask yourself: If you have the the options
a) to join a site for free, but have to enter your credit card information
b) to join a site for $5 for a trial membership, for example 3 days

which one would be your choise? Same site, same content and I would like to join - I would choose option b. Because it's clear for me, I have to pay $5 and will get 3 day trial access... in my opinion: tell the surfer the truth, make it clear what he has to pay for how long and don't try to hide the cancel options - everything else will lead to lost customers or can end in chargebacks.

I would go with A
Join the site for free and no worrying about canceling.
Why pay $5 for a trial membership and then ahve to call and cancel.

I've been runnnig http://www.pamporn.com since 1999 and have never offered a trial. Only full memberships and it converts damn good that way. Screw trials.
