I used Cafe press, had some really funny shit. Good ranking in google. Never sold shit. Prices are to high. Can't mark it up enough to make any money and sell it. Hell, it probably wouldn't sell at "cost".

Ja, Cafe Press has grown over the years with more products but by the time you put a price on them it's too high. You've got to have something extra cool that no one else has.

I will still build up my Cafe Press site though. It started off great at first but I had a problem with certain things that they've now ironed out.

Cafe Press is too expensive...plus you can't put anything creative or original on there because most likely someone is going to rip it off...or your customer is going to print out their own version of your T.

The only way to go is screen printing. Find a local print shop. There is a nice sized learning curve if you want to go about it yourself...plus you'd have to invest in equipment.

Well if your stuff is copyrighted and trademarked they had better not rip you off.

As for the customer, how are they going to print out your stuff? Are they asking that you upload a full sized image on the Cafe Press site?

Trust me...there are hundreds of rip-off sites on Cafe Press....all the major online T-shirt companies rip each other off, Urban Outfitters rip off the online T-Shirt companies. Just do a Google search...most of these cases end up going nowhere.

It's crazy. If you're going to be printing out company logos or event t-shirts then you should be fine. But if you're going to get creative definately go screen printing...you're probaly still going to get ripped off if you're even one bit original but you'll be less likely to.

Greg there is a t-shirt production forum. Just do a little poking around on Google and you'll find it.

Okay I get what you're saying. It's like if you put up a design and slogan that said "Eat Shit!" then fifty other companies would put out their own versions of 'Eat Shit' to the umpteenth power.

In my case and in the case of colleagues we do our own toons with our company logos and catch phrases. Believe you me, if someone ripped those off they'd get hit so fast by the law they wouldn't know what hit em'.

I have used www.zazzle.com . It's a bit better than Cafe Press. The quality is waaay better but the markup is still a problem.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

                              cafepress.com
                              zazzle.com as pornwolf mentioned
                              spreadshirt.com

you're not going to find a screen printer that does 1 and 2 piece orders. Usually 25 is the minimum.

I have used Cafe Press for a couple of years. If you can sell a good number of t-shirts, you don't have to mark them up much, just a buck or two. It is in the volume bonus' that you make the really good money. Once you hit that, the money is pretty good for selling something you aren't producing or mailing

Of course. Trick is getting that kind of volume. I can but the average Joe can't.

                                  Any links to your stuff?

I've found the coffee mug stuff is what people like most as well as hats.
