i'm unfamiliar with wires. how long does a wire take to show in one's account?

basically i've sent and received lots of wires, and this question cannot really be answered, it's like asking how much sales will i get when i send 1000 hits to a sponsor, basically with wires, it depends on the bank, it depends on the time the wire was sent, it depends on the number of intermediary banks etc
especially international wires are a pain in the ass
in general, the wire banking system is still left in the 80's of the XX century it seems, i have no idea why they cannot fasten thinks and make the wires arrive immediately to you, that would be awesome for sureI don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

major banks 48 hrs max, most banks have it in 48 hrs but keep the wire on a in between account to verify its ok

I deal with wires all the time. Usually from US or Canada and they always arrive the same day or the next business day if they are done late in the day.
If they take longer it's because the work order is sitting on somebodies desk instead of getting processed...That or somebody screwed up.
Also...People tend to use the same type of bullshit as "the check is in the mail" and tell you that the wire was sent....even 2 weeks after but they never have the tracking number.....Or whatever it's called. If this happens...You've been stroked....And not in the fun/happy way.
Wires from the UK have taken up to 4 business days to arrive.Comment

it took a week for me to get a wire from overseas, and just shy of a week from a usa based company. just depends.

Some people are simply wire challenged.
If the wire is sent out correctly, you should get a tracking number. And, the wire should arrive that day or the day after. Any wire that takes longer than six days isn't coming.
Sometimes, Germany, Belgium and the Nederlands take up to six days. At least for me.Raven

My Verotel wires arrive in my bank account about 12 hours after the payout notification email. From EU to AU. I think that's an exceptional case though, all other international wires I've received have taken 24-48 hours... or longer
I particularly like it when companies stuff up and send you the wire twice.
