I do think a big wall is and has been needed for a long time, and not only for the purpose of reducing illegal immigrants. If built effectively it would solve the vast majority of the border jumper problems. It would also reduce human trafficing and put a very severe crimp on illegal drugs being brought in. Everyone agrees that the border isn't monitored effectively which also makes it a prime area for terrorist concerns.
