I think Americans really believe the literal meaning of "foreigner" is "someone not American" ... to the smarter ones, at least. The lowest rungs of the ladder think it's a cool 70s band.
J/k my American cousins, I'll be a foreigner this week in Phoenix ... along with about 200,000 Mexicans.
