The ignorance in this thread is amazing. If the local, state or federal governments could figure out a way to benefit from illegal aliens in this country, no one would be crying about them.

The economics don't work like that, won't work like that, and can't work like that. But for most illegals, it's better to be here working for minimum wage than it is to be in their own country without work.

It's a stalemate situation. Not the potential for a civil war. We can't have a civil war with Mexico, Mexico is not part of the US. We could have a civilized war I suppose, but that's about it. If an illegal immigrant population took up arms and declared war on US citizens -- whether US born or living here legally -- it would last about a day and a half.
