People are often confused, it doesn't always have to be an executable that is infected, it can be any vulnerability in any software. There was an exploit a while back for mpg123, a unix based command line mp3 player. If you encoded your mp3 properly, you could exploit the system.
wtf can it be then
it doesnt matter whcih file i send it says its infected
you may have a virus on your machine.
whenever you send a file it goes along for the ride in an attempt to propagate itself.
you most likely got it from a file a freind sent you.
do a virus scan.
A critical security vulnerability related to processing of picture files in the JPG-format has been reported recently. The vulnerability is present in Windows XP (without service pack 2) and Windows Server 2003 operating systems as well as several other products from Microsoft. This vulnerability does not pose an immediate threat to users at the moment. But viruses that use this vulnerability are likely to appear in the future. F-Secure want to draw your attention to this, as a successful JPG-virus would be unique and break many common believes about how viruses replicate. http://www.f-secure.com/news/items/n...04100500.shtml
