Sorry to bring up a dead thread but i figured it would be better than making a new one..
How exactly do these affiliate programs work for camsites? The model and the owner split just say 50/50 to make it easy. Does the affiliates cut come from the owner or total gross amount leaving the model and owner to split the remaining amount?

cool, i think I've got it... So basically the affiliates only get the sales they brought in, meaning they want to traffic the site to the best of their ability so THEY profit as well.
I like this concept.

A couple of things I didn't mention in my last post ... The alternative: A sale that is not referred by an affiliate, using the same example, 50% site and 50% model or studio.
As for the model cut, if she's in a studio she'd likely get 40-60% or so of the studio's share (so 40% of the studio's 50%, i.e. 20% of the original sale). If she works on her own she obviously gets the full 50%.
The model/studio's % doesn't change whether or not an affiliate referred the customer. They get 50% either way. So for the site owner, non-affiliate sales are much more profitable (unless it came from a PPC or advertising campaign, etc.) and certainly should aim for non-aff. sales as a fair % of overall sales.Comment
