EMPLOYMENT: $$$ Hiring Designer/Programmer Project $$$

I am seeking a web designer/programmer to start work on a project I have been thinking up. I have a guy I normally channel my work through but he doesn?t want to take on another project at this time. Work on this project will begin sometime in early June, but I am going to nail down who the designer is going to be very soon.

Please note that this is a long post and if you don?t have the attention span to read it then you wont last through this project anyway. I need someone who is committed and who is going to be in this for the long haul. Once this initial project is done, there is an excellent chance that there will be opportunities for an almost infinite number of smaller update and build out projects, so the opportunity to earn beyond this project is there.

Project:

This project involves the complete design of a cutting edge dating and merchandising website from start to finish and will entail a substantial amount of innovation. There are no pre-built scripts out there that do what I want to do. Even if you think there might be, there aren?t. I have seen them all and I am not open to the idea of using other people?s idea of what a site should be.

The site will include a gay consumer news section, discussion forum, online adult store, polls and more. I am in the process of creating detailed specifications and a site plan. The dating component of the site will include a ?free? level of membership as well as a paid level of membership. Another aspect of the site that will tie in with the dating site is a service that I have yet to come up with an appropriate name for yet, but for now I?ll just call it the ?I?m ready to fuck? feature, where, you guessed it, members who want to meet for a fuck with no strings attached can post their desire to do so. Members will get points by doing various things on the site that they can cash in for various things in a reward store. Paying members will earn points twice as fast as free members and will have access to exclusive point earning opportunities. Advertisers will be able to sponsor a point-earning opportunity for the members.

There will also be a CMS put into place to manage and administer the entire site as well as a panel to handle customer service and another panel to handle memberships with the idea of separating the customer service and membership panels distinctly, as I plan to outsource both of those tasks to work-from-home independent contractors.

Also as part of this project will be a completely separate website that will be used to operate the affiliate program that will pay webmasters who promote the site on multiple levels. I plan to combine a pay-per-click, pay-per-signup and revshare all into one program. This means my affiliates who send stuff that converts are going to get paid about four times per visitor, and the person who does the design of this site is going to spend a lot of time making stats report and stuff like that.

This website will be targeted exclusively to a gay audience. You will be working with gay images and so on. If this offends you or will interfere with your ability to work or the quality thereof, you cannot meet the needs of this project. This website will be a gay community in every since of the word and will seek to fill it?s members every need. Every aspect of this site will be tied into every other aspect and will function as a well-oiled machine. The person who I select to design this site must be able to put himself and the eyes of the surfer and always work with the surfer?s habits and preferences and not his own in mind.

Because this website will not use any pre-built packages, the person who designs this site will need to extensive skills in the following areas and maybe others: HTML, PHP, Perl, MySQL and be highly competent in working with images and making a visually attractive website without the use of Macromedia Flash. Flash will not be used on this site.

Payment:

When a candidate is selected to do this, the candidate and I will examine the spec of the site and divide the project up into several modules, which I?ll call mile markers. Each mile marker will have a deadline associated with it as well as a value, which will represent the designer?s fee to me.

This is a long-term project. It will not be done overnight, in a week or in a month. I plan to invest a substantial amount of my time, money and life for the next year in this project. I need someone who is dedicated to this project and willing to earn their money.

Web programmers and designers all have stories about deadbeat clients who don?t pay their bills. I have some stories about deadbeat web programmers who ran off with my money and never delivered the product that I paid for.

With that being said, under no circumstances, will payment be issued prior to the completion and delivery of this project. Instead, when the time comes to sign someone on for this project, we (the candidate and I) will find and agree upon a reputable member of this board to act as an escrow agent.

I will remit payment in full for the first mile marker of the project to the agent. The agent will then remit 50% of the payment to the candidate upon completion and delivery of the mile marker and continue to hold in escrow the remaining 50% until the two more mile markers have been completed. That means that completion and delivery of the third mile marker will trigger release of 50% of the payment for the third mile marker and also the other 50% of the first mile marker. Completion and delivery of the forth mile marker shall trigger payment of 50% of the fourth mile marker and the remaining 50% of the second mile marker and so on. Before work on a mile marker begins, I will remit payment in full to the escrow agent. This process will continue until the project is done. When the final mile marker has been completed and delivered, all monies in escrow shall be released forthwith.

The fee for this project is yet to be determined because the exact details of the project have yet to be determined. The fee will take into consideration the experience of the selected candidate and will include a bonus at the end that I may add on for a job well done if the deadlines have been met.

Written Contract Required:

All terms and details will be spelled out in a written contract.

Experience Required:

This project is not for newbies (as much as I?d love to throw a newbie a bone, sorry) so anyone who is thinking about this seriously should be prepared to point to examples of their past work that I can look at.

Apply Within:

If this project is something that interests you, please ICQ me at 267989750 with a link to your example URL(s). I would like to see more than one, but one really good one is enough for the right person to take it home.
