whoever gets elected next term is going to have a total clusterfuck to deal with. it'll almost be like starting a new government from ground zero.
That would be a bigtime major concern. There are a few years of damage yet to come and it's not going to be exactly easy to recover from it and, who knows, but prob will take a decade or more. Then there's the "real" cost of recovery - that ain't cheap.
That's the cycle that happens. The Republicans get into office, run everything into the ground, then the Democrats step in and try to fix shit, usually having to raise taxes to pay for the huge mess. Then after everything's fixed and the books are back in order, the Republicans start bitching about how the Dems are fucking us all over with high taxes so they get voted back into office where they can fuck it up all over again.

I sure hope that everyone voted in the last election so that you have a leg to stand on when you complain - because about 50% of your countrymen and women didnt - and it really sucks to hear them complain when they dont vote for congress members (like the upcoming 2006 election) and the Prez - as far as I can see it has historically been the complainers that haven't voted - so either put up or STFU if you didnt vote.

We should wish it would only be so easy. When Dubya took office about 6% of all US taxes were being used to pay interest on loans. When he leaves that number will be close to 20% and rising every day. By the time it's under control we may be spending 25% to 30% of all tax dollars on interest.
How do you recover from that? I don't think we ever will.

Bullshit. It's called BALANCE OF POWER. You have the republicans controlling the executive, legislative and judical branches of government. Not good for a so called democracy. One party government. Worked well for Nazi Germany and the USSR didn't it.
