    A & D or let it bleed?

    I've got 2 inkers with 2 opinions...

One recommends A & D first day right after the initial wipedown, but says leave it bare after... just keep it clean.

The other recommends keeping a light coat of A & D well past scabbing...

I always keep it soaked in A&D, it's really just works best for your skin and how you heal.

I have yet to have any of the color touched up and some of it has been there 4+ years.

I also don't go out in the sun much, so that helps.

I've always done ointment for a few weeks. One tip I thought worked was to make sure to let it air dry for 15 minutes after washing it before applying anything.

A mix of both, you don't want it over moisturized (For lack of a better word) but you don't want it dried out and peeling either

I'm honestly impressed by some of the women out there getting insane table time on rib pieces... that shit's gotta hurt bad. Ankles, wrists, collarbone/neck, and ribcage are the most painful areas from what's been told to me. I feel squeamish even thinking about my backpiece coming up soon, but seeing a chick on the table for 5 hours getting her ribs done, while holding a convo with me shooting pics, without a flinch has me looking up.

I'm running an A/B test, for lack of better term, on two small pieces right now. Both on hands... One got A&D only for first day, the other I've been keeping a light layer on, if one needs more/less touch up than the other when I get the next piece blasted on forearm I will at least know what's working for me.

                        Thanks for the input everyone!!!

Everyone's skin is different so what works for one person may not work for another but this is the way I do it.

My process is right after final wipedown coat with A&D and wrap it up, keep it wrapped over night, next morning take a scalding hot shower and wash with soap and water, then blot with paper towel and let dry. When it starts to flake I put luberderm lotion on it, but only a little bit / very thin coat.

I used to do it the other way, keep applying A&D, which worked out really poorly for me. I have really light sensitive irish skin, the kind that burns and never tans, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Also the most painful tattoo I have gotten so far was getting a black and gray piece that takes up most of the back of my calf. The backs of your calves hurt like a son of a bitch.

tattoo goo is the best stuff IMO, A&D doesnt allow tattoos to breathe well enough and it sticks to your clothing.
