Juicy, what was your A1C? That's a more accurate reading of diabetes than a regular glucose reading.

Which medication did they put you on? Actos? Glucophage? Avandia?

You can still eat the foods you like, just in very very small quantities. You'll learn that sugar-free foods, for the most part, have MORE carbs than the regular product. Try to avoid foods with sugar alcohol and/or Sorbitol, Mannitol or Mallitol. They're affectionately called Turbo Lax.

If you're taking a pill, you're either Type 1.5 or Type 2. Follow the regimen, watch the diet, exercise and you'll be fine.

One thing to remember, your sugar will almost always spike high if you're sick and there isn't much you can do except get well quick.
