I'm not lawyer, but for what I understand it seems Matrix Content lost in court against Metro Goldwyn Mayer on an intellectual property lawsuit

          Best regards

I think the Metro involved in the suit are the same guys that release Toxxxic, Video Team,
Loaded Digital and a couple of other lines on DVD.

Yes, but there is more to it.

Not only did Matrix loose the court case, all of the counter suits and court claims made by all of the different defendants were granted.(so Matrix got sued in return and lost at the same time) And, because Matrix lost they would probably be ordered to pay the court costs of the people that they sued. All of them!!

In short, that is a shit load of money to be ordered to pay by the court. Its just easier to fold up shop and call it a day. Trying to sell the content would be a waste, because the court would try and seize the proceeds and use it to pay off the court ordered cort costs and claims.

Im guessing sometime soon, some obscure company or some person will be on the very down low selling off rights to the matrix catalogue in some show in Amsterdam or somewhere way off of the US grid.

So they sold content that they had no right to sell licenses to?
That would be downright stupid. They must have expected to be sued for that.
