It's based on a Stephen King unpublished short story.
The scenario was a bit altered tho while shooting the movie.

I couldn't agree with you more....I think I will actually be able to PROVE the life of a DVD....I've watched it so many times I have it all memorized...never did that with another movie.

I even put it on in the backround during parties and it always starts a conversation.
