yes it is dangerous. In fact you are not supposed to have bird anywhere near your kitchen because they are especially vulnerable. the real danger comes in 2 forms. Using METAL utensils on it thus scraping the Teflon off and cooking on high heat. Too high heat and the smoke your burnt food create will probably contain poisonous chemicals. So basically use plastic utensils and don't cooker higher than Med heat at most.
