Yep.. I have a FujiS3 It has a funky white balance. I never get the results I want when i use the one on cam. Its easier to edit them after the fact to get the balance I want. Ive messed and messed with it on cam and never been happy.

Yep! Thats how I set it. It gives me a washed out, flat photo with no bounce or color at all. Its easier to take the red out of the image in photoshop then it is trying to sharpen up a flat photo.

Its great for outdoors where you are getting a true 5000 degrees kalvin, but with photo floods (what i use indoors ) its a bitch to get white balance set the way I want it... hense an hour in photoshop. Got to do it anyways.

why not use strobe lighting? save urself the time... not that much more expensive from floods anyways... you can get a nice set for about $700

Here ya go.... same camera and white balance setting only using natural light and a silver relector. No retouching at all.

yeah they came out nice... but some seem flat and the others look out of focus.... are you using auto focus or manual? you should sometimes zoom on the face, focus, then while focused zoom out and shoot, get more sharpness on her face

Yeah.. using auto. Wow... yeah.. good advice. Never tried that. I dont claim to be some master photographer at all.. I have a decent eye, but yeah.. great advice and I will try that for sure.

yeah... i had a great teacher.. my older brother is a pro, and my college prof. use to shoot with ansel adams and learned alot of tricks that he was nice enough to pass down to me... the most important is having the eye... if you want to test yourself, (like my senior project), go get yourself a $10 portable camera and see if you create just as good shots as you would with all the luxuries of digital... that was my fav project.... i'm working on launching a portfolio site soon, when i have time... i'll show you

That would be awesome! And wow... thats some great experince for some serious talant. I wish I could spend more time and really perfect it, but i wear to many hats with running a program the size of mine and all that goes into doing that.. I do enjoy the shooting the most and not because the subject is naked. I just feel its an art form and being a musician (pro trumpet player for 17 years) its just become an extention of that. Maybe one day I can really try to work it.

Posting on GFY, sometimes ya get some harsh remarks... They can be helpful at times though. Not a pro either, but I would have been upset with those 1st pics out. It takes time to photoshop pics. The better out of the box, the less time to fix... So I'm thinkin new camera if ya got the bucks for it.

I'm lookin into photo classes at the Jr college. Nothin like a course on lighting etc..... Your end product is there! Got the feeling you have to work harder to get it than maybe you need too???
