I don't know, I had some good luck with PPC traffic in the mainstream world. It all depends on the price of the key phrase and how you word your offer.
You want people to click, but only those that truly have an interest. You can't make the offer so inticing that everyone that sees it will click but inticing enough that those with a need will. Its something that you have to constantly stay on top of and tweak. Its also important to try and find cheap alternatives to expensive phrases. Some of the second teir engines like 7search, findwhat and enhance are easier.
