I got summoned about a month ago for right around Phoenix Forum. I simply told them I would be out of town on business and they let me go, no problem.

However, while I do agree I wouldn't mind sitting on a jury, it's my feeling that jurors should be paid accordingly. The judge, lawyers, bailiffs and everyone else is getting THEIR regular wage and I AM paying my taxes (which is another "Civic duty").

I'm not talking about paying me my regular wage, but not being paid ANYTHING for five days and then $20 per day for the duration is utter bullshit. Minimum wage should be the LEAST amount jurors are paid for their time.
