I would imagine even if you had a kickass chair it would be strange getting used to it..
I have always thought that there should be a standup wheelchair , but it might just be because i can stand up and would find it irritating sitting all the time..

They have some chairs that can climb stairs with no issues, up to almost a 45 degree incline. Think of a chair on a gyroscope with tank treads.
Getting used to a new chair really is not that big of a deal. Well aside from feeling the dimensions. Ok that may not make sense. Basically I can almost feel the space needed for my chair down to a few millimeters. I will know at a glance if I have enough room or not.
Again there are chairs that could allow you to go up, and even reach a standing position. Problem with them is blood flow. You have any idea how it feels to be sitting or laying most of the time then to stand up? Lets just say it is not pleasant.
