It is damn difficult for companies who are not already in the wheelchair or medical equipment game to step in. Ya know basicly very little chance for a couple of dudes in a fabrication shop to whip out some new shit.
See each wheelchair must meet certain standards and like all medical equipment it must have its own insurance policy to protect the manufacturer.
