    Which sponsors are known for shaving?

    Hi all,

    Before accusing anyone, I was thinking that if you know any sponsor who are disabling from time to time one's sign-ups, to let others know that... it'll be helpfull! It's just that you are trying hard to build up a good relationship with the sponsor and to send good, quality traffic and all of a sudden, the sponsor is taking away your money... WTF???

    Speaking of this... DOES PIMPROLL SHAVE? For example, the period between February 1st-28th, the conversion was ~1:250, after March 1st, 0(zero):5000!!!

    Pimroll, please explain.

                                                          Yes, it varies, the data I was talking about was from February, imagine that on previous months it was better... Based on the traffic sent, I had waaaay better ratios.. that's why I don't understand why are they doing this....

                                                          Anyone you know that might give a shout to pimproll?

                                                              Considering they shave, right? That is my question, too!! Why would they? When you're used with a certain ratio/conversion and all of a sudden it's going down the drain, you start asking questions...

                                                                  There's all kinds of reasons why a sponsor might shave.

                                                                  For example, (and i don't use the sponsor in question so this is nothing more than a generic piss in the wind) let's say you sent 20 sales and 18 of them charged back. The sponsor has one of two choices - cancel your account and blacklist you from signing up with anything that could ever affect their account again, or place your account on hold and monitor it.

                                                                  Maybe you only had 10 chargebacks, or maybe none, I have no idea.

                                                                  Maybe they didn't do a thing, and your traffic changed - is it still coming from the same place?

                                                                  Maybe it IS coming from the same place, and all the surfers who were going to sign up did, and you need to start sending them to another sponsor, because the current one is no longer tripping their trigger.

                                                                  And as always, like it has been said many times before - skimming is part of this business. Count your own clicks, calculate how much you make per click, and choose your sponsors that way, not based on ratios.

                                                                  Of course, 0:5000 could be a fluke, it happens every now and then.

                                                                                          I don't believe PR shaves. I will say March has been crap though. Maybe it's spring break. Maybe by the end of the month things wil even out.

                                                                                                                          My personal sales are *slightly* down from last month BTW, but nothing insurmountable or catastrophic by any means whatsoever.
                                                                                                                          I do notice more competition where my traffic is from, so it's a more active battle you might say.

                                                                                                                                              The thing with PimpRoll is that we have 300 sites or so. So if you send 20 clicks to each of 300 sites without a sale, you will show a 0:6000 ratio.

                                                                                                                                              Thats basically the case. The most uniques to any one site would put the ratio into the "normal" level with only a couple of sales.

                                                                                                                                              I very often take a look and find that it's only a few hundred uniques at the most per site, which is an important difference.

                                                                                                                                                          It's weird man... you should get better ratios, they are converting great for me, at least, some of their sites... overall, I am happy with them, it was only from the beginning of March that sales dropped and that is my concern...if you have 2 (or more) sponsors on the same page and one goes to zero, maybe there's cause to be suspiscious ( as a friend of mine said)
