I agree that a 2" screen is perhaps a little too small for most people, but real color screen phones have only been out a year or two. Irrespective of this, mobile phones should end up as the primary delivery method for a huge amount of mainstream and adult content, they're accessible, constantly connected and everybody has one. Then when we released the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Honeymoon video, the landscape suddenly changed.
All of a sudden, video online became a viable way to see porn ACTION and not just pics. THAT video changed everything at a time when experts thought the internet might just be a fad!

What you guys are missing here is that Mobile Porn is not like any other Mobile service/product such as ring tones, wallpapers, digital camera features, etc.
It's PORN after all. The following factors come into play:
1. Parents will demand providers to block such content on their kids' phones.
2. Even if they don't - teens are unlikely to waste their last dime on freaking limited pixels believed to be porn
^ these two also apply to some extent to PC-based porn anyway.
3. LOW LOW LOW quality. It just can't be that we've lowered our standards from REAL SEX to DVD-quality sex, to PC-based-DivX-coded sex, to 2" small figures having sex on a god damn cell phone.
4. Privacy of the end-user. Are we going to see lines to the restrooms with peope waiting to get off on a 120x120 thumbnail-sized pic of a Pamela Anderson-looking figure? If they will do it at home, geez, doesn't it make more sense to actually USE A FREAKING PC or put on a DVD?
5. The only viable use is in a gimmick-fashion - compare pics with college buddies, download 10-second clips and try to figure out what the hell happened there, etc.
6. Waste of money for the end-users. I think that even people who like it at first will realize that it's not worth their $$. But then again, they spend $1 a pop for ring tones, so go figure. LOL.
7. Charge-backs. I don't think people will be happy with lousy '96-style content. Time will tell.

Well, azguy and his strange opinions aside, mobile content delivery is an excellent marketing tool. Just like other technologies, try thinking of it that way instead of being something to replace what you do already. Anyone who doesn't see the benefit of adding a clean 10% or so to their bottom line with minimal work and risk shouldn't be in business if you ask me.
For my first example, I'll use member upsells. You've got a guy who has joined a site and is a loyal member -- he loves the girl or girls the site features -- he's also the first person that would pay an additional monthly fee to get wallpaper, screensavers, maybe even personalized text messages from the girl or girls of his choice monthly.
Or say you've got a reality site. You send your existing members teaser trailers on their cell phones when you update every week (or whatever your schedule) -- while it does cost you a few cents to send the trailers out, you get members who will come back and log in to see the new updated videos and they extend their membership for another month due to the novelty of the mobile marketing, and perhaps even longer if they really like the whole thing.
There are so many ways to look at this it's not even funny. Mobile delivery in the EU is already hot and exceptionally profitable, now it's time to bring it into the states and start making money here.
One of my clients has an excellent system that's been in use in Europe for quite some time now, and they are ramping up with US delivery and partnerships with various companies right now.
